St lucia offers a wide variety of activities to keep visitors entertained, from natural wonders such as pristine white sand beaches and rainforest scenery, to scuba diving and piton climbing. open air markets for fantastic shopping and exceptional restaurants provide refined local cuisine.
Botanical and Tropical Gardens
Diamond Botanical Gardens and Mamiku Gardens are exquisite tropical locations. Each filled with lush, exotic flora. Visitors to the Diamond Botanical Gardens can see the mineral baths and spectacular waterfall, whereas the Mamiku Gardens surround the ruins of the 18th century Micoud Estate.
Whale Watching
One of the leading island’s for whale watching, over 20 species are regularly spotted throughout the year. Humpbacks, Pilot whales, Sperm whales and spinning and spotted dolphins are among the most popular sightings.
Hiking
A variety of nature trails are available to explore the beauty of St Lucia. Rain forests, deserted beaches, Cactus Valley and Pigeon Island are just a few of the many wonderful hikes that visitors can take.
Rainforest Tours
St Lucia offers sensational tours of the lush rainforests. Sky rides in trams or on zip wire create fantastic tours and breathtaking scenery. Visitors can enjoy a 60 minute tour over the rainforest canopy and also enjoy sumptuous food in the rainforest café; this is a truly memorable experience.
Golf
The St Lucia Golf & Country Club is situated in the exclusive Cap Estate. This 18-hole championship golf course has stunning views across the Caribbean Sea. The course has been improved over the last 18 months and is now managed by Troon Golf Management. The club has an excellent restaurant and is a challenge for the most accomplished of players.
There are plans for a further Jack Nicklaus course in the North East of the island, which will enjoy views over the Atlantic. Work has already started on a Greg Norman course in the East coast and is scheduled to be completed within 18 months.
Gros Islet Friday Night Street Party
The longest running street party in St Lucia, this is an event not to bed missed. With music from the island’s DJs and occasional appearances from local artists, a variety of Bar-Be-Que grills serve a variety of mouth watering food. This is a definite stop for visitors and locals alike.
